Semantic Web

Semantic Web is not only a vision, but also a technology, a social phenomenon, and a Web-scale architecture. In this University Session all these aspects of the Semantic Web are discussed with an emphasis on Semantic Technology. Semantic Technology is changing the way we organize, manage and structure information and data, revolutionizing traditional IT practices and solutions. In the session we will demonstrate how to implement semantic web applications, using existing standards and patterns as well as technologies recently introduced and the architectures involved. Hopefully you will get a good insight in the way semantic technology differs from traditional approaches. Since there are no silver bullets, also the limitations of semantic technology will be discussed.

The number of attendees is limited to 15 and will be on a “first come, first serve base”.
