Senior JAVA/J2EE Developers

Senior JAVA/J2EE Developers

 

who will be instrumental in designing and developing high quality, exciting, personalised Web and Content services for users of TomTom Navigation products.

Position

You will first and foremost be an experienced professional with strong JAVA/J2EE development experience. You will be designing and building enterprise systems for a series of application development initiatives targeting a J2EE environment. Candidates must be skilled in J2EE Design patterns and best practices with excellent oral and verbal communication skills. Experience in major RDBMS required and exposure to Unified Modelling Language (UML) to modeling system design specification is a big plus.

Your work will involve:

  • Design and implementation of JAVA
  • Integration with content servers and feeds
  • Creation of functional specifications
  • Database management (not administration)
  • Technical documentation

Candidate

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, committed colleague with an eye for detail, a hands on mentality, and a strong focus on results. You are known as a self-motivated personality who feels responsible for the company, your colleagues and the company’s customers. Having had at least three years of relevant experience in JAVA development in an environment similar to TomTom, having enjoyed the hectic, the energetic level and a-typical type of colleagues, you’re looking for a fun-loving company with a good team spirit. As you will be joining a new activity, you are excited by the prospect of working in virgin territory.

  • You have good language skills in English, both speaking and writing and preferably a second language as well
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of designing and implementing scalable J2EE Enterprise applications.
  • You have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, you feel confident when communicating with people at all levels – both internal and external
  • You have a sound attention to detail and accuracy, whilst at the same time a strong focus on achieving the end-result
  • You have a degree in computer science or a related field (equivalent to dutch HBO level or higher)
  • You are self motivated and supporting but you also know when communication is required
  • Required skills: java 1.5/J2EE1.4, Servlets, EJB, JMS, JDBC, RMI, JNDI, Messaging, Transactions, XML, Webservices etc.
