Bio van Peter Jacobs
Peter joined ING in January 2010 as Director Application Management ING Bank Netherlands responsible for all application management activities. Until 2010, Peter was Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, which role also saw him actively involved with ING (including Tango and the Easier programmes at Product Management). From 2013, he is Chief Information Officer, responsible for all IT within ING Netherlands.
Peter holds a PhD degree in System Engineering (cum laude) and a M.Sc.in Systems Engineering from the Delft University of Technology. Peter has a great passion for, and extensive background in IT, and combines his IT credentials with strong communication skills. His enthusiasm is contagious. He operates across organisational borders, and is driven by a strong ambition to strengthen the connection between IT and business. Peter played a key role in the development of the ING Mobile Banking app, the decommissioning programme, and the IT improvement programme. He is also one of the people responsible for the transition of the IT Netherlands organisation. In his current role, he is responsible for further implementing the chosen IT strategy.
