Controllers - The Next Generation

When talking about web application development it's all too easy to concentrate on the eye candy of visual components and the coolness factor of anything containing the word AJAX, but what of that poor relation, the Controller?. Since the heyday of the Apache Struts project many developers have considered that the controller problem is largely solved and we see new standards like JavaServer Faces embrace the controller function as a built-in capability. However, the story is not over. JSF has several large holes in its controller implementation and needs to be evolved either by the expert group itself, or, as is happening, by the community.

In this session I'll be surveying what is being done in the controller space for JSF by the key players: Apache Shale, Spring, Seam and ADF. All have solutions and enhancements, all have some very convergent ideas. could it be possible that consensus is being reached? Come along and judge for yourself.
