Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR): Bringing Rich Internet Applications to the DesktopAdobe AIR, formerly code-named Apollo, is a cross-operating system runtime that allows developers to use their existing web development skills - HTML, JavaScript and Flash - to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop. In the first part of this session we'll build an application to introduce you to some of AIR it's features like the windowing API, file system access, drag and drop to the desktop and packing and deploying AIR applications. In the second part we go deeper into best practices working with the local database engine - based on SQLLite - that comes with AIR.

Marc Meewis Adobe Systems Marc, while an expert Java developer, has a database development background of more than 10 years that he can not forget. Early 2007 he joined Adobe as technical sales consultant and became addicted to Flex and AIR, still believing that backend integration is considered more sexy then flashy user interfaces. Prior to that Marc was technology sales consultant at Oracle Belgium.
