Java en Google App Engine Introductie

Dit jaar is google gekomen met de ondersteuning van het java platform. Nu kun je door gebruik te maken van een java web project allerlei google services beschikbaar stellen. Een van de services is de DataStore. Deze DataStore service zullen we gebruiken in de demo die we gaan bouwen tijdens de presentatie.

Tijdens deze presentatie krijg je de basis voor het bouwen van je eigen applicatie voor het google app engine platform. Na een korte introductie van het platform zullen we samen een demo applicatie gaan bouwen. Voor het opzetten van de applicatie maak ik gebruik van maven. De demo applicatie zal een web applicatie zijn welke berichten opslaat door gebruik te maken van de "DataStore" service. Na het bouwen van de applicatie zullen we een nieuwe versie deployen naar de google app engine. Uiteraard zullen we de code die we schrijven unit testen. 

Aan het einde van de presentatie hebben we een demo applicatie die je zelf kunt gebruiken als basis voor je eigen applicaties op het google app engine platform.

Jettro Coenradie  JTeam I am a software engineer working in the ICT business now for more than 10 years. My motto is learn by sharing knowledge. I like to read and learn, but most of all write about what I have learned. I give a lot of presentations within the company, but I also have given presentations to a larger community about web security using Acegi and webservice versioning using OSGi. During the projects I have done I learned about programming, designing, analysis and a lot about doing projects. My focus has been configuration management and quality of code. I have worked with a lot of different architectures but the web seems to be coming back every time. Recently I have revived my Domain Driven Design knowledge. I am now a believer, that is why I am helping to start up the dutch ddd user group. Nowadays there are three areas that I focus on. For the front end I want a richer experience by using ajax frameworks (jQuery, Google Web Toolkit and flex). I always combine these technologies with a solid back end using springframework. I am a strong believer in the Service Component Architecture. The third area I focus on is enterprise and web content management. I have done a number of projects with various content management solutions. When creating applications on the java platform, there is a need to deploy them. That is why I started working with the google app engine. A nice platform with a lot of options to scale and integrate with familiar google services. Next to the technical stuff I try to broaden my horizon by reading books about personal effectivity and management styles. Most recent books: The machine that changed the World (Story about lean production) and Pour your heart into it (How starbucks built a company). I am also an Open Source evangelist. I am a member of the open source expert panel of a dutch magazine called Computable.
