In this talk I'll be taking a pragmatic view of application development with Java. We all know and love the language but some times it can be hard to persuade a developer to adopt Java as the technology of choice - Why is this? Can the Java platform really provide the answer? At last I think, the fog is beginning to lift from the Java landscape and the path forward for Java Application development is becoming clearer. I'll be examining EJB and JSF and the emerging Meta-Frameworks as both symptoms and illustrations of this change.
