Plumbing your Enterprise application with Spring Integration

Gregor Hohpe described a set of patterns useful to integrate loosely coupled enterprise applications in his book Patterns of Enterprise Application Integration.

Spring Integration is a product in the Spring Portfolio that allows developers to introduce those patterns in applications rather than have applications be deployed to an ESB to integrate them. This allows for precise and fine-grained application of the integration patterns to existing applications, whether those be batch-based, web-based or even standalone applications.

Spring Integration project follows the good practices and natural programming model typical to Spring; it uses well designed object orientation, enables test-driven development, emphasizes on productivity and quality within the application architecture.

This presentation gives an overview of Spring Integration. After having introduced some of the most frequently used enterprise integration patterns we will show the benefits of using the application-centric approach specific to Spring Integration in a live demo.
