Membership provides members free access to the NLJUG workshops and events on a variety of Java topics, held across the country on a regular basis. Plus on a quarterly basis the Java Magazine published by Array Systems. The NLJUG is a member of a worldwide network of Java User Groups.

University Session - Peabody and Glassfish

Op 16 maart 2006 organiseert de NL-JUG in samenwerking met Sun Microsystems een University Session over "Project Peabody" and "Project Glassfish". De University Session vindt plaats op het kantoor van Sun Microsystems in Amersfoort.

Project Peabody

Project Peabody is an initiative to provide a more collaborative development environment for future generations of the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE). The initiative includes simplified licenses, a more transparent development process, and contribution opportunities for developers. The approach is already being used in the Mustang Project for J2SE 6.0. In today's chat you'll have a chance to ask questions, make comments, and offer suggestions that can help Sun determine how to best work with developers to improve the J2SE platform and the JDK.

 

Project Glassfish

The GlassFish community is building a free, open source application server which implements the newest features in the Java EE 5 platform (the next version of the J2EE platform). The Java EE 5 platform includes the latest versions of technologies such as Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) 3.0, JavaServer Faces (JSF) 1.2, Servlet 2.5, JavaServer Pages (JSP) 2.1, Java API for Web Services (JAX-WS) 2.0, Java Architecture for XML Binding (JAXB) 2.0, Java Persistence 1.0, Common Annotations 1.0, Streaming API for XML (StAX) 1.0, and many other new technologies.
