Deze NLJUG University sessie is een 1-avond sessie die georganiseerd en gehost wordt door Adobe Systems Benelux.

University Advanced Flex: July 9, 2008

Getting started with Flex is easy.  Becoming a Flex Architect is hard.  This session introduces some architect-level topics like MVC and Message Bus based architectures.  This session also covers advanced methods of integrating to a Java back-end.

Topics will include ways to connect to a Java backend system (RPC, Messaging and JMS, Data Management). On the client side we will look into architectural patterns for building Flex Applications including MVC and the Message Bus.

Agenda:

18:00 - 18:30 uur:  Pizza and Drinks
18:30 - 19:30 uur:  Connecting to Java backends
20:00 - 21:00 uur:  Flex architectural patterns

This session will take place at the office of Adobe Systems Benelux in Amsterdam ; Signup for this free session online.

This University will be presented by:

  •  James Ward is a Technical Evangelist for Flex at Adobe and Adobe’s JCP representative to JSR 286, 299, and 301. Much like his love for climbing mountains he enjoys programming because it provides endless new discoveries, elegant workarounds, summits and valleys. His adventures in climbing have taken him many places. Likewise, technology has brought him many adventures, including: Pascal and Assembly back in the early 90’s; Perl, HTML, and JavaScript in the mid 90’s; then Java and many of its frameworks beginning in the late 90’s. Today he primarily uses Flex to build beautiful front-ends for Java based back-ends. Prior to Adobe, James built a rich marketing and customer service portal for Pillar Data Systems.
  • Corneliu Vasile Creanga has been a Java Technical Lead with Adobe since August 2007. He graduated with a Computer Science degree in 2001 in Bucharest. He previously worked for Oracle as a software developer and business analyst and before that, in several small to mid-size software companies. His expertise is mostly related to databases, O/RM frameworks, Java/J2EE, and implementing domain models. Corneliu is known for his inner drive to do things better and his enjoyment of technical debates. Outside of work he enjoys travelling, going to the gym, watching good movies, and spending time with his friends. Corneliu is passionate about Adobe technology and looks forward to meeting members of the Adobe community throughout Europe.
