University Android - Herhaling: 8 juni 2010 N.B. Dit is een herhaling van de university sessie op 11 mei die wegens grote belangstelling al vol zit.
The Android platform increasingly gains more popularity which can be
partly explained by platform openness and flexibility and of course the
support of Java as the programming language. Another contributing factor
is the ease of development and low learning curve for Java developers.
Android is provided not only with SDK, but also a simulator to test
applications under various conditions and a development environment that
so many developers are already used to.
This University Session
gives you an insight into the Android development environment and allows
you to gain first hands-on experience in developing applications for
Android. During this session you will be presented an opportunity to
learn various aspects of Android platform such as basic application
lifecycle, persistence and user interface.
Under guidance, you
will build a small application, run it on Android simulator and, if you
take your Android phone with you, install it on your phone. After
attending this workshop you’ll be able to code your own Android
applications.
Agenda:
- Short introduction to Android
platform
- Practical exercises:
- Preparing the
development environment
- Building the user interface, learning
about layouts, menu’s
- Make application behave nicely: adding
application lifecycle
- Storing the work done: adding persistence
to the application
Tijdschema:
- 18.00 – 19.00 Eten

Daarna zal de workshop Android bestaan uit 3 modules: - Building the user interface, learning about layouts, menu’s
- Make the application behave nicely: adding application lifecycle
- Storing the work done: adding persistence to the applicationtest
